Life Before Porn

Honey Gold was born Cyrah Alexa Harris in San Francisco in 1993. She was born into a conservative, African American family of Native American, Chinese, Mongolian and Irish descent. Her parents had their own business and were entrepreneurs, but struggling ones, and, she has said, that led to issues at home and a certain amount of neglect. Honey says she was originally from 'up north' and moved around, to Oakland and then San Francisco, where she went to a public and then a private school. From 3rd grade onwards, she was home-schooled on a Christian home-school programme, and never again had a traditional education. Her parents were very religious and active in the Christian community, as was Honey for some time because it was expected of her.

Honey left home when she was 18 because the attitudes of her conservative family didn't match her own, which is a polite way of putting it by the sound of things. She clearly clashed with her parents, their way of life and their expectations, but her leaving caused a shake-up within the family, and she didn't speak to her parents for some years afterwards. After leaving home, Honey took up a variety of jobs in graphic design, as an apprentice draftswoman, in medical billing, a dispensary, coding, and fast-food places among others. She has admitted that this succession of dull jobs led her to question her place in life, and they took their toll on her usually cheery disposition and her natural energy.

Honey says she experimented with other girls when she was in her early teens and lost her virginity to a boy at the age of 18; a co-worker from the fast-food joint where she worked. They were a couple for a short while, but he soon became an ex. She was 'Exposed to the porn industry' when another boyfriend, Donny Sins, introduced her to several performers including Skin Diamond, but it wasn't until 2017, when Honey was 23, that she was contacted by Mark Spiegler. His talent agency, Spiegler Girls, offered her the chance to debut as an actress.

Porn Career

As Honey Gold, her porn career started right at the top, with an appearance in 'My Stepsister and I Share Cock', a movie directed by Joanna Angel for the renowned adult site, Burning Angel.
